Shift management app

A phone-first app that puts who is on, opening times and the shift handover in one place instead of scattered messages.

Designed for use mid-shift: large touch targets, works on any phone without an app store install.

Stack
SvelteKit, SQLite, PWA
Jawohl on a phone — opening shift for a venue, ticking off setup tasks, logging cash register checks and clocking a bartender in with a tip reading

The problem

Opening checklists, cash counts, who is working and the tip split lived in scattered messages and paper. Handing over a shift meant piecing it together.

What I built

  • Opening and closing checklists for each venue.
  • Register checks and cash drops, with numbered envelopes and an estimate of when each register needs emptying next.
  • The change safe and entry float, counted by denomination.
  • Clock-in, breaks and clock-out, and the tip pool split across the pooled roles with cash payouts per person.
  • A shift summary and history behind a PIN. Shift data is deleted after seven days.
  • It installs on the phone home screen like an app, with no app-store account needed.

The outcome

The whole shift sits in one place on any phone, designed for use mid-shift with large touch targets.
